Drug Plot - Fall 2011

A new drug is being handed out on the streets by the shady dealers. It's actually been in matriculation for about a week now, but it's finally starting to make its rounds and garner some interest. It's called Xalyein, and it comes in a little glass vial in little pills that are the size of tic-tacs. In fact, they're being disguised as little breath mints to keep cops off the trail.

It's tasteless and mostly odorless (though dogs and people with heightened smell can learn to find it eventually), and it comes in colors. (Again, think tic-tacs: green, orange, white, red, etc.) It's not exactly an easy drug to get for now and seems to be floating around Sectors 9 and 10.

What It Does:
That depends on who you are. If you're a generally nice person, good at heart, then you're going to get some sweet hallucinations, trippy dreams, and you'll definitely get a pick-me-up from the drug itself. After about an hour or so of nice hallucinations, it'll drop you off to sleep.

If you're a BAD person, or you have cruel intentions, etc... It's a bit different. It'll give you horrific hallucinations and you'll be compelled to rip apart anything that gets in your way. It'll fill you with rage and malice, basically unleashing that cruel persona within you.

For all the people who are neither bad nor good? Well, it's up to them. They can play around with what they'd like to happen to their character, though it'll middle out between the two extremes. They might feel like their soul's being torn apart or they might feel a numbing sensation... It's up to the players.

The Story Behind the Drugs:
A Hillsdale student has been given an invitation to join SERO if he can prove that she's worth her salt. She's gone ahead and made this new drug and has given out a couple of bags worth to the poorer districts and to a few dealers. SERO's name is NOT attached to this. She's proving that she can make a cool new drug to demonstrate how good of a scientist she is. With SERO's name not on the drug, nothing can be traced back to them, and she's giving them the opportunity to observe what happens without any repercussions.

This is a plot that can open things up for some shady deals to go down, some investigations, some accidental usage... Things like that. I'd like for it to run until the end of October (ending before Halloween) as a side plot if anyone wants to do anything. I'll write up some news stories about it for the month.
